DIY plant plug

For the Green Green Grass Of Home!

Is it time again to work with your hands in the soil and plant fragrant herbs in the vegetable patch or on the windowsill? We have a creative upcycling idea for you that allows you to keep your plants apart. The DIY plant plug is fun and very easy to make.

You need:
  • bionella lid
  • all-purpose glue or hot glue gun
  • brush
  • light acrylic pen
  • dark acrylic paint
  • cord
  • stick
Step 1
First, paint one half of the bionella lid with a dark acrylic paint. We chose "chocolate brown", of course.
Step 2
Once the paint has dried, write information about the plant on the colored lower section - for example, information about the location and care instructions for the herb or its origin and botanical name. On the upper unpainted part of the lid, write the plant name in capital letters. In the middle, draw characteristic parts of the plant for easy identification. For this, it is best to use a white acrylic.
Step 3
Now decorate the stick that will serve as a plug. To do this, wrap a pretty cord around the stick. Alternatively, you can also paint the stick with acrylic paint. In our case, we once again pick up the lush green color of the lid.
Step 4
Now attach the wooden stick on the backside of the lid with all-purpose glue or a hot glue gun. Press the stick firmly against the metal and give the glue time to dry.

NOW YOUR PLANT PLUG IS READY!

THIS UPCYCLING IDEA IS ALSO GREAT WITH THE CORRESPONDING HERBS IN THE POT AS A GIFT OR SOUVENIR.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR CREATIONS!
